Terrorist Attack on Iranian Police Headquarters in Rask County Claims 11 Lives

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran's Police Spokesman Brigadier General Saeed Montazer-al-Mahdi revealed a vicious terrorist assault on Rask County's police headquarters in Sistan and Balouchestan province overnight, resulting in 11 martyrs among police officers.

“In response to the cowardly and indiscriminate attack several terrorists were killed or wounded, with some police personnel sustaining injuries and tragically martyred,” Montazer-al-Mahdi said, adding that the police commander of Sistan and Balouchestan is overseeing the situation, which has been stabilized.

According to an official with the provincial governor's office the terrorists stormed the police station around 2 a.m., leading to the martyrdom of 11 senior officers and soldiers. A number of them were also injured.

“The police personnel valiantly confronted the terrorists, resulting in injuries among the attackers. The city has since resumed normalcy after this tragic event,” he added.

The militant group "Jaish al-Adl" (better known in Iran as Jaish al-Dhulm) claimed responsibility for the assault on the commander's headquarters in Rask County.

Following this assault, political and security figures from Sistan and Balouchestan confirmed the loss of 11 police personnel. However, security forces swiftly regained control, restoring calm to the city.

Seven police officers sustained injuries during the attack, prompting an order from Brigadier General Ahmadreza Radan the, country's Police Chief, to dispatch a delegation for a thorough investigation in Rask County.
