Daesh Akin to Israel: Raisi

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi drew an analogy between the Zionist regime and the Daesh (aka ISIS or ISIL) terrorist group, saying they both crave massacre of civilians.

In a meeting with Chairman of the National Assembly of Tajikistan Rustam Emomali, held in Tehran on Monday, Raisi stressed the need for collective action by all regional countries to fight against terrorism.

He noted that the Daesh terrorist group, created and fostered by the US and the Israeli regime, is similar to the Zionists, who are butchering innocent children and women in the Gaza Strip.

The president also called for closer cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan, two neighbors of Afghanistan, in the fight against terrorism, organized crimes and drug trafficking.

Lauding the growing ties between Tehran and Dushanbe over the past two years, Raisi noted that the expansion of parliamentary cooperation will give a boost to their political, economic and cultural relations.

For his part, the Tajik parliament speaker praised the constant growth in his country’s trade exchanges with Iran over the past two years.

Emomali described regional insecurity as a common concern that poses risks to the trade cooperation between the two nations.

He also expressed Tajikistan’s support for the formation of an independent Palestinian government and condemned the Israeli crimes that have claimed many lives in Gaza in the past three months.

Nearly 23,000 Palestinian people have been killed –including 9,600 children– in the Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7.
