Iranian Greco-Roman Wrestler Mohmadi Takes Silver at Zagreb Open
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler Alireza Mohmadi won a silver medal at the 2024 Grand Prix Zagreb Open on Saturday.
Mohmadi emerged victorious over China’s Chengwu Wang, Venezuela’s Luis Avendaño and Georgian Achiko Bolkvadze but lost to Alan Ostaev (AIN) 2-1 in the final bout of 87kg.
Iran has sent four Greco-Roman wrestlers to the competition.
The Ranking Series event started on January 10 in Zagreb, Croatia with Freestyle, followed by Women's Wrestling, and end with Greco-Roman.
