Russian Volunteers Rescue Stranded Iranian Truck Drivers near Tver

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Russian volunteers and rescuers stepped in to assist two Iranian truck drivers stranded near the city of Tver, northwest of Moscow, during the opening days of the new year due to frigid circumstances, as reported by Komsomolskaya Pravda.

The Iranian drivers were transporting cargo from St. Petersburg to their homeland but faced freezing conditions, forcing them to stop near Tver. The SOVA search and rescue team learned about the plight of the drivers from other motorists who noticed the stranded trucks.

Responding to the distress, volunteers from the SOVA team provided assistance to the Iranians, who had been stranded on the highway for over two days without food or water.

The Russian rescuers offered the drivers hot tea and nourishing borscht. Additionally, a local craftsman successfully started the engine of one of the heavy trucks. Recognizing the need for further help, volunteers contacted rescuers who utilized heat guns to warm the engines. Thanks to the combined efforts, the Iranian drivers were able to resume their journey.
