Iran’s Knowledge-Based Exports Up in 7 Months


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The head of Iran’s International Science and Technology Interactions Cooperation Center put the export value of the knowledge-based companies in the country in the seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2023) at more than $1.3 billion.

According to the official report of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), more than $1.3 billion worth of knowledge-based products was exported overseas from March 21 to October 22, 2023, Amir Hossein Mirabadi said. 

Strengthening the activities of the knowledge-based companies and activating the private sector of the country in the field of economy have been among the blessings of the Islamic Revolution which has led to the promotion of the capabilities of the country in the field of science and technology as one of the most important components in the international arena, he emphasized.

He pointed to the houses of innovation and technology (iHiT), which have created a suitable platform for knowledge-based companies to play a role in the international arena, and said the International Science and Technology Interactions Cooperation Center hosts a high-ranking delegation from different countries every week.

Earlier, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi reaffirmed his administration’s support for knowledge-based enterprises.

"The support should be planned in such a way that it leads to transformation and speeding up the implementation process of the law on the prosperity of knowledge-based products in the country,” the president emphasized.
