UN Warns of Atrocities in Rafah amid Israeli Invasion Threat
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The United Nations’ special adviser on the prevention of genocide, Alice Wairimu Nderitu, warned of the serious risk of atrocities if Israel proceeds with its assault on Rafah in southern Gaza.
Despite international pressure to refrain from invasion, Israel maintains its intention to enter Rafah and eliminate the so-called "Hamas battalions."
"We will fight until complete victory and this includes a powerful action also in Rafah after we allow the civilian population to leave the battle zones," stated the Israel regime's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
His statements come amidst ongoing efforts by mediators to broker a ceasefire in the four-month-old war, which has resulted in widespread destruction in Gaza, displacement of most of the population, and pushed hundreds of thousands to the brink of starvation.
