Iran Earns $1 Billion from Transit of 14 Million Tons of Goods: IRICA Chief


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) said the country earned $1 billion in revenues from the transit of 14 million tons of products in the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2023).

Mohammad Rezvanifar said the transit of goods from the country registered a 30% growth compared to a year earlier.

The deputy minister of economy further noted that 72 million tons of goods, valued at $42 million, were exchanged with 15 neighboring states.

Earlier, he had said that foreign transit of goods via Iranian land in the first 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year registered a 29% hike compared to the same period last year.

Some 14.2 million tons of goods were transited via Iran’s land from March 21, 2023, to January 22, 2024, Mohammad Rezvanifar added.
