Southern Gaza Hospitals Under Israeli Attacks as Staff Arrested

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli attacks on Gaza between Sunday and Monday resulted in an additional 107 Palestinians killed and 145 injured, bringing the death toll in the territory to over 29,000, with more than 69,000 Palestinians injured, according to the UN.

Israeli forces arrested 70 medical staff at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis on Sunday, where eight patients died due to a lack of oxygen, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported, citing Gaza’s Health Ministry.

Fourteen patients were evacuated from the hospital on Sunday by the World Health Organization, and negotiations are ongoing with Israeli forces to evacuate all remaining patients from the complex, OCHA stated.

The situation at Khan Younis’s al-Amal Hospital is critical after 28 days under Israeli siege. Food supplies are nearly depleted, and fuel is running out for electricity to keep high-risk patients alive, the UN noted in its latest flash report.

On Sunday, the hospital’s third floor was damaged by artillery shelling, and its central maintenance room was destroyed, OCHA reported, citing the Palestine Red Crescent Society.
