US, UK Launch Fresh Airstrikes in Yemen
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The United States and the United Kingdom have carried out a series of airstrikes in Yemen's Ta'izz and Hudaydah provinces, as Yemeni forces continue maritime operations against vessels linked to Israel in the Red Sea.
According to Yemen's official Saba news agency, an airstrike hit Ta'izz province's At-Ta'iziyah district early on Sunday, with no immediate details on casualties.
The airstrikes in Hudaydah's al-Durayhimi district followed shortly after, involving four strikes by US and British forces.
Yemen's Supreme Political Council member Mohammad Ali al-Houthi condemned the ongoing US strikes in Yemen, warning of severe consequences for Washington's aggression.
Al-Houthi stated, "It is out of the question to welcome Americans with wreaths of flowers, as they are wreaking havoc throughout Yemeni soil and territorial waters. Americans should expect harsh retaliation and punishment."
He further warned US military forces, asserting that Yemen's high morale would ultimately triumph over them.
Al-Houthi emphasized Yemen's readiness for defense, highlighting the recent "Promised Day" war game's combat scenarios that showcased the military's preparedness.
He praised the participating units for achieving all objectives, noting their readiness for rapid response to any potential US-British ground invasion.
The US and UK have been conducting such strikes in Yemen since expressing unqualified support for Israeli regime and holding Yemeni forces responsible for attacks on Israeli-owned or merchant vessels.
Yemenis have openly supported Palestine's struggle against Israeli occupation since the regime's war on Gaza began on October 7.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have vowed to continue retaliatory strikes, which have disrupted major shipping and oil companies' transit through the Red Sea, forcing vessels to take longer routes around Africa instead of using the Suez Canal.
