TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The export of non-oil products from Mazandaran province of Iran to Russia registered a 134 percent hike in the previous Iranian calendar year (ended March 19, 2024), an official said.

Speaking with Russia’s Volgograd governor through videoconference, Director General of Coordination Office of Economic Affairs of Mazandaran’s Governor-Generalship Abbas Hosseini said that the rise in the trade exchanges with Russia has been emphasized by senior officials of the country in line with the activation of economic diplomacy.

He said the export of non-oil products from Mazandaran province to Russia showed a 134 percent hike from March 21, 2023, to March 19, 2024.

This was achieved thanks to efforts to increase the trade relations between Mazandaran province and corresponding provinces with the Caspian Sea littoral states which is one of the main policies of the current administration.

More than one million tons of non-oil goods, valued at over $70 million, were exported from Mazandaran to Russia last year, he stated.

In this period, Mazandaran province imported 892,000 tons of non-oil goods from Russia, valued at over $378 million, registering an 87 percent hike compared to a year before.
