Iran’s Papi Takes Bronze at 2024 World Para Athletics


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian javelin thrower Amanollah Papi bagged a bronze medal in the 2024 World Para Athletics Championships on Saturday.

Brazilian Cicero Valdiran Lins Nobre won the gold medal with a throw of 50.18 meters in the men’s Javelin Throw F57.

Turkey’s Mohammad Khalvandi claimed the silver with 49.80 meters.

Papi finished in third place with a throw of 49.61 meters.

Earlier in the day, Iranian shot putter Saman Pakbaz had won a bronze medal in the competition.

Held in East Asia for the first time and a crucial qualifier for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the Kobe 2024 Para Athletics World Championships attracted over 1,000 athletes from 100 countries and regions to compete in 168 events.
