Iranian, Foreign Lawyers Discuss Prosecution of Israeli War Crimes

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Central Bar Association of Iran organized a conference in Tehran to examine the legal and judicial procedures to prosecute the Israeli regime’s officials for their war crimes against Gaza.

The purpose of the conference, held in Tehran on Saturday, was to debate the “capacities of the national and international bodies for prosecuting the perpetrators of crimes against Gaza”.

The conference, held under the auspices of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening, was attended by foreign lawyers and jurists from Jordan, Russia, Brazil, Algeria, Indonesia, Egypt, Kenya, Pakistan, Syria, Nigeria, Iraq, Tunisia, Uganda, Palestine and Lebanon, who have been involved in judicial measures against the Zionist regime.

In an address to the meeting, the president of the Central Bar Association of Iran said the crimes that the Israeli regime has been committing in Gaza in the past seven months amount to crimes against humanity, war crimes and genocide according to the international charters and treaties.

At least 35,386 people have been killed and 79,366 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, 2023.

At least 900,000 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced over the past week as Israel ratchets up its deadly incursions into Gaza.
