Salehi Wins Iran’s 12th Medal at 2024 World Para Athletics
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Elham Salehi won Iran’s 12th medal at the 2024 World Para Athletics Championships on Friday.
She came third at the Women's Javelin Throw F54 Final with a throw of 16.61 meters.
Nurkhon Kurbanova of Uzbekistan won the gold medal with a throw of 20.73 meters and Nigerian thrower Flora Ugwunwa claimed the silver with 19.33 meters.
Held in East Asia for the first time and known as a crucial qualifier for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the Kobe 2024 Para Athletics World Championships has attracted over 1,000 athletes from 100 countries and regions competing in 168 events.
