Mokhber Highlights President Raisi’s Efforts to Promote Ties with Neighbors


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s acting President Mohammad Mokhber said enhancing relations with neighbors, Islamic countries and like-minded states was one of the most important achievement of President Ebrahim Raisi, who was martyred in recent helicopter crash.

He made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid, stressing that the most important achievement of the late president was enhancing amicable ties with neighbors and aligned countries.

The Iraqi president was in Tehran on Saturday to offer condolences on the martyrdom of the Iranian president and his companions in the helicopter crash last weekend.

The acting president of Iran said that Raisi attached great importance to relations with Iraq in all fields.

Mokhber added that the strategy of the Islamic Republic of Iran towards the government and people of Iraq, which was pursued by the late President Raisi, will certainly continue. 

The Iraqi president, for his part, expressed his condolences on the martyrdom of President Raisi and his accompanying delegation and said that the martyrdom of President Raisi was a great loss for both the Iranian and Iraqi nations.

Rashid further stressed that the Iraqi government and nation will stand by the government and nation of Iran in this difficult situation to overcome the grief.

He also emphasized his country's determination to continue relations and cooperation with the Islamic Republic.
