Robust Foundation Shielding Islamic Republic: Sudan


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Foreign Minister of Sudan Hosein Awad lauded the Islamic Republic of Iran’s sturdy and effective structure, which he said is protecting Iran against serious and major upheavals.

In a meeting with Acting President of Iran Mohammad Mokhber, held in Tehran on Sunday, the Sudanese foreign minister conveyed the condolences and solidarity of the president, government and people of Sudan with the nation and government of Iran over the loss of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his entourage in a recent helicopter crash.

Awad stated that the relations between Iran and Sudan are based on Islamic and humanitarian principles and friendship between the two nations.

He also described the strong and efficient structure of the Islamic Republic of Iran system as a shield that protects this system against big and heavy events, the president’s website reported.

For his part, Mokhber appreciated the expression of sympathy and solidarity of the government and people of Sudan with Iran.

Highlighting the effective role of the late Iranian president and foreign minister in promoting relations with the Islamic and aligned countries, Mokhber said, "This approach will continue as the basic strategy of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

The acting president also described attention to the concerns of Muslims and Islamic countries as a strategy of Iran, adding, "We will not hesitate to provide any help for the independence, progress and peace of the people of Sudan."
