Iranian Authorities Advocate for Quick Release of Detained Citizen in France

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Speaking over the phone with Iran's ambassador in Paris, Mohammad Amin Nejad, Caretaker Foreign Minister Ali Baqeri advocated for the quick release of Iranian citizen Bashir Biazar, who is currently being held by French police.

Baqeri thanked the Iranian embassy in Paris for their efforts and requested special attention to the rights of Iranian citizens in France, based on the ambassador's report.

He stressed the importance of continued embassy follow-up with French authorities and the provision of necessary legal and consular support for the swift release of Biazar and his reunion with his family.

Baqeri emphasized that safeguarding Iranian citizens' rights abroad is a priority for the diplomatic establishment, pledging full support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in providing consular, legal, and political assistance globally.

On Thursday, the secretary of Iran's High Council for Human Rights condemned the arrest of Iranian national Bashir Biazar in France and called for his immediate release.

Biazar has been an outspoken supporter of the Palestinian cause. He used his social media accounts to raise awareness of the Israeli regime's atrocities in Gaza.
