Iran’s Rezaei Wins Bronze at Budapest Ranking Series Day 1


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Ali Abbas Rezaei claimed a bronze medal on Friday in Day 2 of the Budapest Ranking Series.

Rezaei defeated Azerbaijan’s Turan Bayramov 5-0 in the 74kg quarterfinal but lost to Uzbek wrestler Razambek Jamalov in the semifinals.

The Iranian freestyler also defeated Georgian Giorgi Elbakidze in the bronze medal match.

Seven weight classes in Freestyle will be in action with top wrestlers in all the weight categories. The ranking, and ultimately the seeds for the Olympics will be determined after this Ranking Series.
