Iran’s Economic Growth Rate Higher Than Those of Other Regional Countries: CBI Chief

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s economic growth rate is higher than many countries including neighboring and regional states, according to the latest statistics of the World Bank (WB), the governor of the Central Bank of Iran said.

Speaking on the sidelines of a Cabinet meeting, Mohammad Reza Farzi stated that the country’s growth rate has been satisfactory, especially in recent years.

Given the average economic growth rate of the country in the previous years and especially in 2023, the highest growth rate, according to the World Bank, belongs to Iran, Farzin added.

He added that the five-percent economic growth rate in the country is ‘satisfactory and acceptable’ compared to the previous years, IRNA reported.

He hoped that Iran would see the five-percent economic growth rate in the current Iranian calendar year (started March 20, 2024) as well.
