Iran Loses to Chinese Taipei in 2024 Asian Women's U-18 Volleyball Championship


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to Chinese Taipei in straight sets (25-19, 25-13, 25-18) in the 15th Asian Women’s U-18 Volleyball Championship on Thursday.

Iran had defeated the Philippines 3-0 in its opening match on Sunday in Pool B at the Ratchaburi Gymnasium in Ratchaburi, Thailand and lost to defending champion Japan 3-0.

Teams split into four pools A, B, C and D of three teams apiece, except Pool D with four teams. Hosts Thailand, Uzbekistan and Macao China are in Pool A, while Pool B consists of defending champion Japan, Iran and the Philippines. Pool C features China, Kazakhstan and Hong Kong, while Korea, Chinese Taipei, India and Australia are in Pool D.

The top four teams will qualify for the FIVB Volleyball Girls' U-19 World Championship.
