Iran’s Women’s U-20 Volleyball Team Defeats New Zealand


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated New Zealand 3-0 (25-18, 25-10, 25-20) in a friendly match as part of preparation for the 22nd Asian Women’s U-20 Volleyball Championship.

The competition will be held at the Jiangmen Sports Center Gymnasium in Jiangmen, China from July 1 to 8.

A total of 12 teams will vie for top honor and four berths at stake for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women’s U-21 World Championship.

The Iranian team is drawn in Group C along with Thailand and Vietnam.

Iran will meet Vietnam on Tuesday.

Group A consists of China, Kazakhstan and Australia. Japan, India and Hong Kong are in Group B and South Korea, Chinese Taipei and New Zealand are drawn in Group D.

Padideh Bolourizadeh will lead the Iranian team in the tournament.
