Vietnam Sweeps Iran at 2024 Asian Women’s U-20 Volleyball Championship


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Vietnam swept past Iran 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-19) in the 2024 Asian Women’s U-20 Volleyball Championship on Tuesday.

Iran is scheduled to play powerhouse Thailand on Wednesday.

The competition is being held at the Jiangmen Sports Center Gymnasium in Jiangmen, China from July 1 to 8.

A total of 12 teams will vie for top honor and four berths at stake for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women’s U-21 World Championship.

The Iranian team is drawn in Group C along with Thailand and Vietnam.

Group A consists of China, Kazakhstan and Australia. Japan, India and Hong Kong are in Group B and South Korea, Chinese Taipei and New Zealand are drawn in Group D.

Padideh Bolourizadeh leads the Iranian team in the tournament.
