Iran Loses to Thailand at 2024 Asian Women’s U-20 Volleyball Championship


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to Thailand 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-17) in the 2024 Asian Women’s U-20 Volleyball Championship on Wednesday.

Iran is scheduled to play the third-place team of Pool A in the 9th–12th semifinals on Thursday.

The competition is being held at the Jiangmen Sports Center Gymnasium in Jiangmen, China from July 1 to 8.

A total of 12 teams will vie for top honor and four berths at stake for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women’s U-21 World Championship.

Group A consists of China, Kazakhstan and Australia. Japan, India and Hong Kong are in Group B and South Korea, Chinese Taipei and New Zealand are drawn in Group D.

Padideh Bolourizadeh leads the Iranian team in the tournament.
