Leader Visits Grave of Late Iranian FM


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei paid a visit to the grave of late Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, who passed away along with President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash on May 19.

Ayatollah Khamenei visited the shrine of Abd al-Azim al-Hasani (AS) in the city of Rey, south of Tehran, on July 24.

The Leader also paid his respects and recited Surah al-Fatiha at the grave of Amirabdollahian, the late Iranian foreign minister, who was martyred alongside late President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash on May 19, Khamenei.ir reported.

During the visit, Ayatollah Khamenei also paid tribute at the graves of several other martyrs including Seyed Mahdi Mousavi, the head of President Raisi’s security team, Seyed Mahdi Jaladati, who was martyred in the Zionist regime’s attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, and Vahid Zamani-Nia, one of Martyr Qassem Soleimani’s bodyguards.

A helicopter carrying President Raisi and his entourage crashed in northwestern mountainous forests on May 19, killing the president, Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian, Friday prayers leader of Tabriz Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Al-e-Hashem, Governor of East Azarbaijan Malek Rahmati, the commander of the president’s security team, two pilots and a flight crew.

The tragic accident happened as the president and his entourage were returning from Khoda Afarin region in Iran’s northwestern province of East Azarbaijan after inaugurating a dam at the common border with the Republic of Azerbaijan.
