In a meeting with the prime minister of Armenia, held in Tehran on Tuesday, Masoud Pezeshkian hailed the close cooperation between Iran and Armenia as a suitable ground for enhancing ties in the economic, trade, cultural, scientific and technological sectors.

Pezeshkian stated that his forthcoming administration regards the regional transportation routes, including the International North-South Transport Corridor, as a good opportunity for the development and progress of all countries across the region.

Therefore, he added, Iran will prioritize plans to finish the projects in that sector.

The Iranian president also noted that one of his forthcoming cabinet’s top priorities in foreign policy will be promoting relations with the neighbors, including Armenia.

Pezeshkian will take his public oath of office in front of Iranian lawmakers and foreign dignitaries from dozens of countries on Tuesday.
