Israeli Drone Strike Kills 18-Year-Old in Jenin amid Continued Raids
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An 18-year-old Palestinian was killed by an Israeli drone strike in Jenin, increasing the death toll from recent Israeli raids in the West Bank to five, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Witnesses reported hearing two loud explosions while approaching Jenin, which has been under an Israeli military raid since Monday afternoon.
Increased Israeli military presence has been observed, with more vehicles moving towards the Jenin refugee camp, where armed confrontations between Palestinian freedom fighters and Israeli forces have occurred.
Two drone strikes were heard, resulting in one fatality. Medical sources reported nine injuries in Jenin, with two individuals in critical condition.
Local media outlets have reported significant damage to roads and buildings due to the ongoing raid in Jenin.
A video verified by Al Jazeera shows an Israeli military bulldozer destroying a road in the city.
Israeli forces continued their operations in Jenin city and the refugee camp early Tuesday morning, destroying civilian infrastructure as reconnaissance aircraft patrolled overhead.
According to the Wafa news agency, the raid, which began on Monday, has caused severe material damage to public infrastructure and private property in the city and refugee camp.
Power outages have been reported due to damage to electrical transformers.
Elsewhere in the occupied territory, raids and arrests have been reported that two young Palestinians were arrested in the Jalazone refugee camp, north of Ramallah. Also three Palestinians, including a teenager, were arrested in the Bethlehem area during clashes with Israeli forces in the village of Artas. A wounded Palestinian man was arrested in Kafr Dan, west of Jenin, after Israeli forces stormed his family home.
Clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian fighters continued throughout the night in Jenin as the army's raid unfolded.
