Iranian Taekwondo Athlete Barkhordari into 2024 Olympics Final
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mehran Barkhordari of Iran advanced to the final match of the men’s taekwondo 80kg in the 2024 Olympic Games.
Barkhordari defeated Uzbekistan’s Jasurbek Jaysunov 2-1 in Round of 16. He also emerged victorious over Italian Simone Alessio in quarterfinals.
The Iranian athlete then beat Seo Geon-woo of South Korea 2-1 to secure his place in the final.
Iranian female taekwondo athletes Mobina Nematzadeh in -49kg and Nahid Kiani in -57kg have previously won a bronze and a silver medal, respectively.
