Iran Pressing for Int’l Outcry Against Israeli Attack on Gaza School

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The caretaker foreign minister of Iran highlighted Tehran’s efforts at the international condemnation of the Zionist regime’s recent military strike on a school in Gaza that has killed over 100 Palestinians.

In a telephone conversation with Deputy Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau Khalil al-Hayya on Sunday, Ali Baqeri said Iran has been holding extensive consultations in recent days regarding the Israeli regime’s most recent horrific crime in al-Tabin school in the Daraj neighborhood in central Gaza City.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is seriously pressing for the condemnation of the Zionists’ new crime at the regional and international organizations,” the Iranian diplomat said.

For his part, the Hamas official called for the global condemnation of the Israeli massacre of people in the Gaza school.

Al-Hayya also stressed the need for constant consultations with Iran.

Hamas has said in a statement that Israel’s claims of the al-Tabin school being used as the group’s command center are “excuses to target civilians, schools, hospitals, and refugee tents, all of which are false pretexts and exposed lies to justify its crimes”.

At least 39,790 Palestinian people have been killed and over 92,000 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7, 2023.
