Iranian President Introduces Prospective Ministers to Parliament


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday submitted the list of his proposed ministerial picks to the Parliament for a vote of confidence, 12 days after his swearing-in ceremony.

The list of the proposed ministers was submitted to the Parliament’s presiding board on Sunday morning.

Pezeshkian took the oath of office on July 30. He had two weeks to submit his new cabinet to the parliament.

The proposed ministers on the list are as follows:

Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance: Abdolnaser Hemmati

Minister of Intelligence: Esmaeil Khatib

Minister of Foreign Affairs: Abbas Araqchi

Minister of Communication and Information Technology: Sattar Hashemi

Minister of Education: Alireza Kazemi

Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education: Mohammad Reza Zafarqandi

Minister of Labor, Cooperatives, and Welfare: Ahmad Maydari

Minister of Agricultural Jihad: Gholamreza Nouri Qezelje

Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics: Aziz Nasirzadeh

Minister of Justice: Amir Hossein Rahimi

Minister of Roads and Urban Development: Farzaneh Sadeq

Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade: Mohammad Atabak

Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance: Abbas Salehi

Interior Minister: Eskandar Mo’meni

Oil Minister: Mohsen Paknejad

Minister of Energy: Abbas Aliabadi

Minister of Sports and Youth: Ahmad Donyamali

Minister of Sciences, Research, and Technology: Hossein Simayi Sarraf

The only female pick has been proposed to run the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

The lawmakers are now going to assess the programs of the proposed ministerial picks for a week, before an open session for the vote of confidence.
