Kermanshah-Khosravi Railway Plays Key Role in Connecting Iran to Mediterranean Sea, Minister Says


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s minister of roads and urban development said the Kermanshah-Khosravi Railway plays a major role in connecting Iran to the Mediterranean Sea.

This giant railway project will complete the International East-West Transport Corridor, Mehrdad Bazrpash stated in a post on his X account, IRNA reported.

Pointing to the construction operation of the Kermanshah-Khosravi Railway within the framework of the “Iran-Rah (Road)” initiative, he emphasized that this railway project, in addition to completing the International East-West Transport Corridor, will connect the rail network of Iran and the Central Asian states to Iraq and the Mediterranean Sea.

Bazrpash noted that the Kermanshah-Khosravi Railway project, which is 263 km long, is under construction with 36 percent physical progress.
