Greek Coach Manolopoulos Named Iran Basketball Coach


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sotirios Alex Manolopoulos took charge of Iran’s national basketball team on Tuesday.

Manolopoulos, 54, has most recently worked as the head coach of Romanian basketball team Dinamo București.

He has previously worked in Greek teams Papagou Athens, Panathinaikos, AEK Athens and Peristeri Athens.

Manolopoulos replaced Turkish coach Hakan Demir in Iran's basketball team.

Marco Ramondino from Italy and Slovenian coach Radovan Trifunović had also been nominated to lead Iran.
