IRGC Reaffirms Resolve to Respond to Israel
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesperson for the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps highlighted the “determination” to give a retaliatory response to the Israeli regime for its acts of aggression, noting that Iran decides when to take action.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, General Ali Mohammad Naeini stated that the Israeli regime will definitely receive a response for the assassination of the political bureau chief of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh.
He said the Zionist regime has achieved none of its purposes in the assassination of Haniyeh, adding that its plot has backfired as the resistance front became stronger.
“There exists serious determination to respond to the Zionist regime’s various acts of violation,” the spokesman added.
The general noted that the wise Iranian people realize that the military commanders consider all conditions about the response to Israel before making a detailed and calculated decision and taking effective measures that will change the enemy’s calculations.
“We have control over time and the period of waiting for that response may lengthen. The Zionists have to remain in a state of imbalance for now, as Iran’s response may not be a repetition of the previous operations,” the IRGC spokesman stated.
He noted that Iran would not use similar scenarios for responding to Israel, saying Iranian commanders have the experience and skill to “punish the enemy effectively” without being hasty.
“No aggression against Iranian targets has remained unanswered, and the enemy must await calculated and accurate blows in due time,” the general warned.
Haniyeh, who was in Tehran to attend the new Iranian president’s swearing-in ceremony, was martyred in an Israeli operation in the early hours of July 31.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has warned the Israeli regime of a "harsh response" for Haniyeh's assassination, calling it the Islamic Republic's duty to avenge the Palestinian resistance leader's blood.
