Iran, Germany Urge Dialogue to Address Problems


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Senior diplomats expressed Iran and Germany’s determination to resolve the problems through dialogue and continued political consultations.

In a telephone conversation on Thursday, Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock congratulated her Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi on taking the post.

Baerbock also expressed hope for the expansion of relations between the two countries under the new Iranian administration and with the removal of the existing challenges and obstacles.

Araqchi, for his part, emphasized the need for continued political consultations between the two countries.

He stated that mutual respect and a focus on shared interests are essential for maintaining and strengthening bilateral relations in various areas, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.

The two top diplomats also exchanged views on the issues of mutual interest in the bilateral relations as well as the regional and international developments.

They emphasized the determination of both countries to resolve the current problems through dialogue and the continuation of political consultations.
