Fatemeh Hemmati Takes Silver at 2024 Paralympics
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian archer Fatemeh Hemmati won a silver medal in the Women's Individual Compound Open of the 2024 Paralympic Games on Saturday.
Hemmati was defeated against Turkey’s Öznur Cüre Girdi 144-141 in the final match.
Hemmatifirst defeated China’s Yueshan Lin in Round of 16 and then beat Julie Rigault Chupin of France in the quarterfinal, before emerging victorious over Briton Paterson Pine in the semifinal.
Iran has sent 65 athletes in 10 sports to the Games.
The Paris 2024 Paralympics kicked off with the Opening Ceremony on August 29 while the Closing Ceremony will bring proceedings to an end on September 9.
