Iran Condemns Israel’s Brutal Strike on Al-Mawasi Camp in Gaza

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the Zionist regime’s air attack that has killed dozens of people in tents sheltering displaced Palestinians in the al-Mawasi camp in southern Gaza.

In a statement on Tuesday, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani vehemently condemned the Israeli bombardment of the encampment in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, that killed dozens of Palestinians this morning.

Pointing to clues about the Israeli regime’s use of bunker busters in the horrific crime and the reports that several Palestinian people have gone missing in craters caused by the airstrike, Kanaani said, “By launching maniacal attacks against Palestinian civilians and the camps of displaced people, the terrorist Israeli regime once again proved that it is not committed to any legal and international norms or moral and humanitarian principles.”

The continuation of gruesome Israeli attacks and the Zionist regime’s acts of aggression against the security, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the regional countries are brazen and undeniable examples of threat to international peace and security, genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing, and crimes against humanity, the spokesman added.

Kanaani called on international organizations, especially the UN Security Council, to act immediately and effectively to deter and contain the Israeli regime’s unlimited atrocities in accordance with the UN Charter and international law.

Gaza authorities said at least 40 people were killed and 60 others were injured in the Israeli attack on the tented encampment in southern Gaza near Khan Younis.

At least 40,988 Palestinian people have been killed and 94,825 injured in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 2023.
