Yemeni Forces Down Third US Drone in A Week

TEHRAN (Tasnim)- Yemeni forces downed a third American MQ-9 Reaper drone in a week, highlighting their support for Palestinians and opposition to Washington’s aggression in Yemen and Gaza.

Yemeni Armed Forces successfully downed an American MQ-9 Reaper drone in the airspace over Yemen's Dhamar Province on Monday.

The advanced aircraft, designed for both combat and surveillance, is valued at approximately $35 million.

This marks the third instance of Yemeni forces bringing down a similar drone in a week, and the 10th since October 7.

Since that date, Yemeni forces have intensified strikes on Israeli-occupied territories, responding to Israel's military campaign against Gaza.

In a notable attack on Sunday, Yemeni forces targeted an Israeli military site in Tel Aviv with a new hypersonic ballistic missile.

Also on Sunday, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, leader of Yemen's Ansarullah movement, reiterated the country's firm support for the Palestinians, vowing that operations would continue until Israel halts its genocidal offensive and lifts the Gaza siege.

The ongoing Israeli war has claimed the lives of at least 41,206 Palestinians, mostly women and children, as Israel's military campaign proceeds with strong backing from the US.

Yemeni forces have also targeted Israeli ships and vessels moving to and from the occupied territories, aiming to pressure Israel into ceasing its war and blockade of Gaza.

In retaliation, the United States has launched strikes against Yemen, attempting to curb these operations.
