Iran Eyes Strong Ties with Saudi Arabia

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign minister of Iran expressed Tehran’s interest in the expansion of relations with Saudi Arabia.

Abbas Araqchi on Monday sent a message to his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud, congratulating the Arab country on its 94th National Day.

In his message, Araqchi stressed the need to promote and deepen relations between Tehran and Riyadh.

The Iranian and Saudi foreign ministers held a meeting on the sidelines of the 79th annual session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Sunday.

The two senior diplomats discussed the major regional and international developments, particularly the Israeli onslaught on Gaza.

At least 41,431 Palestinian people have been killed and 95,818 injured in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 2023.
