Iran Condemns Israeli Attacks on Lebanon
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli regime’s strikes that have killed nearly 200 people across Lebanon on Monday.
In a statement on Monday, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani strongly condemned the fatal Israeli airstrikes on various residential areas in southern Lebanon that have claimed the lives of scores of civilians.
He roundly criticized the muted response and support from the US and a number of other Western sponsors of Israel for the continuation of the Zionist regime’s crimes against Palestine and its attempts to spread the war to the whole region, warning of the dangerous consequences of the Zionists’ new adventurism.
Describing the new round of Israeli attacks on Lebanon as maniacal, Kanaani said the policy of appeasement towards the crimes that Israel has committed during the past year has spurred the Zionist regime to keep up crimes and genocide.
The Iranian spokesman also slammed the Israeli attacks on Palestine and Lebanon as a brazen example of threat to regional and international peace and security, calling for the UN Security Council’s immediate action to halt the Israeli atrocities.
At least 182 people have been killed and more than 727 wounded in Israeli attacks across Lebanon.
Children, women and paramedics are among those killed and wounded in Monday’s attacks.
