Israel Resorting to Terror Out of Desperation: Qalibaf

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Israeli assassination of Hezbollah leader Seyed Hassan Nasrallah and its campaign of terror against resistance commanders illustrate how desperate the Zionist regime is, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said.

Addressing a parliamentary meeting on Sunday, Qalibaf said the martyrdom of Nasrallah, the courageous and prudent leader of the resistance front, has saddened the world Muslims and evoked memories of martyrdom of late Iranian commander Lt. General Qassem Soleimani.

“Due to its big defeats, the Zionist regime’s existence has been jeopardized. Thus, it has resorted to the tactical methods of terror and psychological operations out of desperation in order to make up for its strategic defeats,” the Iranian speaker said.

Qalibaf noted that the Zionist regime has launched a “complicated hybrid war” after failing to achieve its objectives on the field, saying Israel seeks to assassinate the resistance front’s commanders to turn its defeat into victory.

Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, the longtime leader of Hezbollah, was martyred in a massive Israeli air attack on Beirut on Friday evening.

The Israeli regime carried out a devastating wave of air raids with bunker busters on residential buildings in Haret Hreik neighborhood in Dahiyeh, southern Beirut.
