Resistance Unaffected by Loss of Nasrallah: Top Iranian General

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The martyrdom of Hezbollah leader Seyed Hassan Nasrallah would by no means undermine the anti-Israeli resistance and will even strengthen the resolve to fight the Zionist regime, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri said.

In a statement released on Saturday evening, the top Iranian commander offered his condolences on the martyrdom of Nasrallah in a massive Israeli airstrike on southern Beirut on September 27.

He said the brutal and criminal Israeli attack, which resembled medieval barbarism, has wrenched the hearts of the Islamic Ummah and the freedom-seeking and independent nations across the world.

The Iranian general also lashed out at the US leaders as well as the European and Western allies for aiding and abetting the Zionist regime in committing heinous crimes in Palestine and Lebanon.

Major General Baqeri emphasized that the fierce Israeli assassination of Nasrallah could by no means undermine the resistance fighters’ resolve to create new and honorable milestones in the battle against the Zionist regime, and will, on the contrary, fortify Hezbollah’s power and determination in the struggle against the Zionist criminals.

He stated that Nasrallah’s path will be followed more vigorously, as the resistance forces are going to determine the fate of Palestine and the region in the near future.

In a message earlier on Saturday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei offered condolences on the martyrdom of Nasrallah, stressing that the evil Zionist regime failed to achieve victory in this incident.

The Leader said the Hezbollah chief “was not just a person, but rather he was a path and a school of thought and this path will continue.”
