Imam Reza Shrine Condemns Israeli Strike, Mourns Hezbollah Leader’s Martyrdom

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The custodianship of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine in Mashhad issued a strong condemnation following the assassination of Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance movement, calling for unity among Muslims to confront Israeli aggression.

In a statement from the Imam Reza shrine, officials expressed sorrow and condemnation over the martyrdom of Nasrallah, who was assassinated in an Israeli strike in southern Beirut n Friday.

The shrine invoked the Quranic verse, "Do not think of those who are slain in the way of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive and provided for by their Lord" (Al-e Imran:169), emphasizing Nasrallah's pivotal role in the resistance against Israel.

The statement slammed Israel for committing heinous crimes of "atrocious" and "terrorist" Israeli regime against the people of Gaza and assassinating a "tireless resistance leader". The shrine said that Nasrallah's martyrdom would strengthen the resistance's fight against Israel, calling it a "new chapter" in the struggle against Zionism.

Expressing condolences to various Islamic leaders and the global Muslim community, the shrine called for continued resistance under the guidance of Imam Mahdi and Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. It reaffirmed its commitment to the fight for the liberation of Al-Quds (Jerusalem).

The shrine's custodian, Ahmad Marvi, also issued a separate statement, condemning the assassination and "crimes against humanity." He invoked another Quranic verse, "Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah" (Al-Ahzab:23), stating that Nasrallah had fulfilled his vow to fight until the end.

Marvi condemned the Israeli regime’s "evil" crimes over the past year while international bodies turned a blind eye. He stressed that the unity of Muslims was essential to stop Israel’s "criminal" actions, urging all to support the oppressed people of Gaza and Lebanon.

The shrine's statement concluded with a hopeful message, citing divine promises of eventual victory for the resistance front against the Zionist regime.
