Hezbollah Leader Praises Hamas' Operation as Turning Point in West Asia

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem hailed Hamas' al-Aqsa Storm operation as a significant event, marking the beginning of change in the West Asia region, with resistance forces playing a crucial role.

In a televised address on Tuesday, Sheikh Naim Qassem, Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary General, praised al-Aqsa Storm operation, which was launched by Hamas and other Gaza-based groups against Israel, calling it a pivotal moment in the West Asia region.

“The al-Aqsa Storm operation is an exceptional event, and marks the beginning of change in the West Asia region with the participation of resistance forces,” Sheikh Qassem said. He emphasized that the operation paves the way for significant change and that Israel aims to crush the Axis of Resistance and eliminate Palestinian resistance.

Qassem also highlighted that Israel, the United States, and Western nations are exerting pressure on Lebanon, but stated, “We are the sons of the Greatest Martyr in the Axis of Resistance, Sayed Hassan Nasrallah. We will not surrender by any means.” He stated that the United States and certain European governments are complicit in all the crimes taking place in Gaza.

He went on to praise the resilience of Palestinian fighters, stating that they are "legendary and capable of withstanding more," asserting that the Palestinian people cannot be defeated and are deserving of liberation. Sheikh Qassem also said that Israel’s intentions toward Lebanon remain hostile, referencing Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statements on reshaping West Asia.

Hezbollah, Qassem said, remains committed to defending Lebanon and alleviating Gaza's suffering. “History has proven that the Zionist entity is a threat to the region and the world,” he said.

He reiterated Iran’s continued support for the Axis of Resistance and praised Hezbollah's ongoing military activities, reassuring that their capabilities remain intact. He asserted that Israel's prolonged military aggression will only deepen its challenges.

Sheikh Qassem also addressed Lebanon’s internal politics, expressing support for Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri's efforts to achieve a ceasefire. He emphasized Hezbollah’s operational integrity, stressing that the organization’s leadership structure remains fully functional.

He concluded by stating that Hezbollah would announce a new secretary-general once a successor to Nasrallah is elected, reaffirming their resolve against Israel.
