Iran Condemns US, UK Strikes on Yemen

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry denounced the military attacks by the American and British forces against Yemen as a violation of the UN Charter.

In a statement on Friday night, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei strongly condemned the US and British attacks on Sana’a and Sa’dah in Yemen as a gross violation of the UN Charter and the rules of international law regarding the prohibition of the use of force.

He decried the American and British air attacks on Yemen, along with the continuation of their armed and political support for the Israeli regime’s genocide and massacre of the Palestinian and Lebanese people, as a clear proof of their complicity and involvement in the crimes of the Zionist regime.

The spokesman noted that such aggressive and reckless actions by the US and UK against the oppressed and brave people of Yemen are a dangerous participation of these two countries in the escalation of insecurity and tension in the West Asian region and will embolden the Israeli regime to continue genocide and war-mongering, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.

Praising the honorable support of the Yemeni people for the oppressed people of Palestine and Lebanon, Baqaei stated that the US and UK attacks on Yemen and destruction of the vital infrastructure of the Arab country cannot undermine the solidarity and companionship of the Yemenis with the resistance in Palestine and Lebanon.
