Yemeni Forces Target Israel-Affiliated Ship with Drones in Arabian Sea
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Yemeni armed forces announced a drone strike on a vessel linked to Israel in the Arabian Sea, emphasizing continued military actions until the blockade on Gaza is lifted.
The Yemeni armed forces claimed responsibility for targeting the ship MEGALOPOLIS in the Arabian Sea using drones, military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said on Friday.
“The operation was carried out with the help of Allah Almighty,” Saree stated, adding that the vessel was struck for violating a Yemeni-imposed ban on shipments to Israeli ports.
According to Saree, the attack involved the Drone Air Force of the Yemeni military, and the ship's owners had breached Yemen’s decision prohibiting entry into ports under Israeli control.
“The armed forces will continue targeting all ships affiliated with Israel or destined for its ports,” Saree warned, vowing that such operations would persist until Israel ends its blockade on Gaza and military actions against Palestinian and Lebanese territories.
Saree expressed solidarity with fighters in Gaza and Lebanon, asserting that the martyrdom of Yahya Sinwar would bolster resistance efforts worldwide.
“The Yemeni Armed Forces, as they mark the second year of involvement in the promised conquest and holy jihad, will maintain a naval blockade on the Israeli enemy,” Saree declared. He reiterated their intent to strike ships connected to Israel and continue drone and missile operations against the Israeli regime.
“These operations will not cease unless the aggression stops, the blockade on Gaza is lifted, and attacks on Lebanon are halted,” he added.
Since last year, Yemen has carried out similar strikes on Israeli, American, and British vessels, framing the actions as support for Palestinians in Gaza.
Following the launch of Israeli genocidal war on October 7, 2023 Yemen openly declared its support for the Palestinian struggle.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have pledged to sustain their military operations until Israel halts its aerial and ground offensives in Gaza.
Israel's brutal war have resulted in the deaths of over 42,520 Palestinians, primarily women and children, and injured more than 99,500 people in the Gaza Strip.
