Targets Chosen for Iran’s Response to Possible Israeli Attack: Spokesman

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran has made up its mind about the targets it may hit in a defensive response to the Israeli regime’s possible strike, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said.

Asked about the reports of leaked documents describing a possible Israeli strike on Iran, Baqaei stressed at a press conference on Monday that Iran is fully prepared to respond to any act of aggression.

He said Iran takes account of all authentic reports and information and relies upon the capabilities of its military forces to fend off the Zionist regime’s sinister measures.

Regardless of media stories, Iran knows its job very well, the spokesman noted, adding that Tehran has made a decision about the Israeli targets that would be hit as part of Iran’s defensive reaction.

Declining to comment about the authenticity of the reports on the documents that allegedly describe preparations by Israel in advance of a possible strike on Iran, Baqaei reiterated that Iran is completely prepared to respond to any strike.

On October 1, Iran responded to the Israeli assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah Secretary General Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, and IRGC general Abbas Nilforoushan by launching as many as 200 ballistic missiles toward the Zionist regime’s military and intelligence bases all over the occupied Palestinian territories.

While the Zionist regime has threatened to retaliate, Iranian officials have warned that Tehran’s reciprocal response to any Israeli action will be harsh, proportional and well-calculated.
