Iran’s Firouzpour Wins Gold at 2024 U-23 Worlds


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s freestyle wrestler Amir Hossein Firouzpour won a gold medal in the 2024 U-23 World Championships.

He defeated his American rival Jacob Cardenas 11-4 in the 92kg final bout.

Mustafagadzhi Malachdibirov (Individual Neutral Athlete) and Ion Demian (Moldova) won two bronze medals.

More than 650 wrestlers compete in the event with 240 wrestlers each in Freestyle and Greco-Roman and 184 wrestlers in Women's wrestling.

The competition is being held in Tirana, Albania.
