Sepahan Held by Foolad: IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Sepahan football team was held to a 2-2 draw by Foolad on Matchweek 9 of the 2024-25 Iran Professional League (IPL) on Sunday.
In the match, held in Ahvaz’s Foolad Arena, Kaveh Rezaei gave the visiting team a lead in the 25th minute but Siavash Yazdani scored an own goal to make the scoreboard 1-1.
Mohammad Mehdi Mohebi put Sepahan ahead again in the 39th minute but with two minutes remaining to the break, Amir Masoud Sarabadani netted the equalizer.
Earlier in the day, Tractor defeated Aluminum 2-0 in Tabriz courtesy of early goals from Tomislav Å trkalj and Mehdi Hashemnejhad.
Persepolis remains top with 17 points, thanks to a better goal difference than Sepahan.
