Israel Strikes Beirut, 40 Killed in Attacks on Eastern Lebanon

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Israeli regime’s fighter jets bombed Beirut overnight after Lebanon’s health ministry reported 40 people killed and 53 wounded in a massive Israeli aerial bombardment of areas in eastern Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley and Baalbek city.

The Zionist regime’s air force has carried out more than 110 attacks on targets in Lebanon and Gaza on Wednesday, its military said in a post on social media.

Israeli jets hit approximately 20 sites in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley and north of the Litani River, while dozens of other sites were attacked across southern Lebanon.

A huge fireball was reported and damage was caused to Beirut’s international airport following four overnight Israeli attacks on the Lebanese capital’s southern suburbs, Al Jazeera reported.

Hezbollah has reported that an uncle of the movement’s late leader, Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, has been killed in an Israeli attack in southern Lebanon’s Bazouriyeh area.

In a post on social media, the movement said that sources had announced the death of Nasrallah’s uncle – identified as Abu Haider Nasrallah – in an attack in Tyre district.

He was killed alongside his family, Hezbollah said in a short post.

Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, 64, was martyred in an Israeli strike in September after leading the resistance group for 32 years.

Nasrallah was replaced as Hezbollah’s secretary-general by Sheikh Naim Qassem, the longtime number two to the late leader.
