Iran, Pakistan in Unison to Combat Terrorism: General
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s vice defense minister lauded the close coordination with neighboring Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.
The coordination between Iran and Pakistan in the war on terrorism is at a perfect level, as the two neighbors are combatting terrorist threats with great unity, Brigadier General Hojjatollah Qoreishi said.
The Iranian general, accompanied by a military delegation, was speaking during a visit to Nur Khan airbase in Pakistan’s Rawalpindi.
He also hoped that constant cooperation between Iran and Pakistan would ensure security and stability along the common border and benefit the two neighbors.
Highlighting the close interaction between Tehran and Islamabad in the defense and security spheres, General Qoreishi said the purpose of his trip is to strengthen relations in the fields relating to security, border issues, and the exchange of military delegations.
Speaking to reporters after a visit to Islamabad on Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said the two neighbors have agreed to step up joint action against terrorist groups and enhance cooperation in this regard.
