IRGC Eliminates Four Militants in Southeastern Counterterrorism Operation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has struck a significant blow against enemy-backed militants in Sistan and Balouchestan province, killing four terrorists in an operation aimed at securing the southeastern province.

An IRGC spokesperson told the Tasnim News Agency that a successful operation was carried out in Sistan and Balouchestan province against militants supported by foreign adversaries. General Ahmad Shafaei, the exercise spokesperson, said that the IRGC’s recent offensive neutralized four terrorists in Rask County.

“As part of our ongoing Security Martyrs Operational Exercise, the IRGC has effectively engaged with militants aligned with global arrogance, leading to the death of four terrorists,” Shafaei said.

He added that IRGC forces seized a vehicle and a large cache of weapons and ammunition during the operation.

“The pursuit and elimination of the remaining elements of this terrorist group will continue,” he stated.

Shafaei also confirmed that one IRGC member was martyred in the operation.

The IRGC’s intensified campaign comes after a series of deadly terror attacks on Iranian security forces in Sistan and Balouchestan. On October 26, at least 10 police personnel were martyred in Taftan County’s Goharkooh region in an attack by unidentified assailants.

In December 2023, the Jaish al-Adl terrorist group stormed a police station in the city of Rask, killing 11 police officers.
