Syria Urges Global Action against Israel's Continued Aggression

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syria’s Foreign Ministry condemned recent Israeli airstrikes near Damascus, urging the international community to take collective action against Israel’s persistent attacks across the region.

Syria has strongly condemned ongoing Israeli airstrikes, calling on peace-seeking nations worldwide to intervene against Israel's repeated assaults on Arab countries.

In a statement on Monday, Syria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described Israel as a “Zionist entity” bent on committing “vicious crimes” across the region, demonstrating “contempt for human values and international law” with each attack.

The ministry specifically denounced an Israeli strike on a residential building in the Sayeda Zainab district south of Damascus on Sunday, which left at least seven civilians dead, injured 20 others, and caused extensive property damage.

Damascus said that this aggression was only possible due to the backing of certain Western nations for the “terrorist Israeli regime.”

Israel frequently targets locations in Syria, particularly positions of the Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah, which has supported the Syrian army in its fight against foreign-backed militants.

Tel Aviv rarely comments on its operations in Syria, seen by many as a direct response to Syria’s success in combating terrorism within its borders.

Israel has been the principal supporter of terrorist groups that oppose the democratically-elected government of President Bashar al-Assad since the foreign-backed militancy erupted in Syria.
